Dear Friend of Armiya SOS;
Easter is upon us, and we are excited to announce a new project for April.
But before we get to that, let us bring you up to date regarding the finances from our recent fundraiser, “War in Ukraine” which took place in Toronto on February 28th.
About one month has passed since our fundraiser, “War in Ukraine” and indeed our total collected at our banquet was $52,420.00 .
Special thanks to all supporters. Every donation is appreciated. Every dollar is put to good use, with almost no administration costs.
Especially generous were some of the following individuals, and organizations:
St. Vladimir Institute $7,000
Dr. M. Zazula $5,000
Ivan & Karen Franko $2,000
Mr.& Mrs. Popadiuk $1,500
Kosa Kolektiv $1,400
Mrs. Anna Kisil $1,000
Andrew Tron $1,000
- & O. Sivkov $1,000
PLUS…..Our generous sponsors for the evening…..and many, many donations of $500, $300 and $100!! ( even if you are not listed here, believe us that your donation is critical to the defense of Ukraine)
As part of our responsibility to you, our supporters, we want to be accountable and share with you, exactly how we are spending the money that was raised, based on the requests from the Front:
1) A radio-frequency detection system will be delivered to the men who were stationed in Luhansk Oblast. COST: $29,200.00
2) 300 pairs of tactical goggles have been received in Ukraine COST: $ 4,100.00
3) 14 Analog Radio Scanner Units have been received in Ukraine COST: $ 9,050.00
4) Equipment purchase given to the Battalion in which our Veteran, Nazar Volynets served. Transfer: $ 3,045.00
We have decided to use $12,000 to purchase jeeps for military use in Ukraine. The method which we have chosen is efficient and patriotic in the sense that we are uniting with Army SOS Murcia ( Spain) to maximize efforts and save costs on shipping.
Each jeep will cost about $5,000 . Rather than sending the vehicle from CANADA, our members in Spain will drive the jeeps to Ukraine!!
On April 21st, Dr. Hareychuk, and his wife will travel to Spain ( at their own expense ) and meet up with our compatriots is Murcia. Vehicles are being shopped for as we speak. The final purchases will be made on Thursday, and the BLESSING OF THE JEEPS WILL TAKE PLACE ON APRIL 26th BY THE LOCAL PRIEST IN MURCIA.
The jeeps will then be driven to Ukraine. Armiya SOS Canada will pay for the gas required for the journey.
We appreciate everyone’s generosity, and that money is tight, as always…. but we are humbly asking if you might be able to donate just a few more dollars to allow us to buy another two, or possibly three jeeps.
If you have donated lately, then we’d like to say “thank-you” once again. After our trip to the Front, and meeting with the men, I am not embarrassed to plead on their behalf.
CAN YOU HELP?
I personally guarantee that not a penny will go to waste, and it is a great way to unite in our defense of Ukraine. A donation of $50, or $100 is all that it would take from our community to make this an even bigger success.
TWO WAYS TO DONATE:
1) Go to UkrCanCo.org and donate on PayPal
2) In person, or mail a donation to the offices of Dr. Hareychuk, 2100 Bloor St West, Suite 13, Toronto M6S 1M7
Tel: (416) 767-2100, (Cheque payable to Ukraine-Canada Coalition)
Please help make our latest project a GREAT SUCCESS !! (SEE THE ATTACHMENT BELOW)
